Boost Your Functional Health with Vitamin Infusions

Have you been taking your daily vitamin? Taking a daily pill can be a difficult routine to remember and follow. Although you might not feel the direct benefits of vitamins, it doesn’t mean they aren’t important to take. Vitamins and minerals are an essential part of any diet and can help prevent certain types of cancer, heart disease and a multitude of other health problems. Through a balanced, enriched diet, the basic vitamins you need can be consumed, however, vitamin infusions can deliver essential vitamins more quickly and effectively.

Intravenous Vitamin Infusions

Vitamin infusions transport vitamins and minerals straight to the blood stream. Transferred intravenously, the infusions deliver concentrated amounts of specific vitamins to improve the overall health and wellbeing of patients. The absorption process is almost instantaneous, and your gut doesn’t have to work to differentiate between vitamins, amino acids, minerals and other nutrients.

Vitamin Infusions vs. Oral Supplements

If vitamins can be taken orally, you may be wondering why you need an infusion. When a patient receives a vitamin infusion, they receive it directly to the bloodstream. The infusions contain concentrations of vitamins that couldn’t be delivered with a pill. Vitamin infusions have an immediate impact on functional health and have been known to treat a variety of health issues like fatigue, infections, weight gain, headaches and much more.

When you take a vitamin orally or rely as your food as a source for nutrients, your body has to work harder to break it down. By the time it reaches your system, only a fraction of the nutrients are still there. Lifestyle factors like alcohol consumption, stress, infection or other medications can hinder the effectiveness of oral vitamin supplements.

Process of Getting Vitamin Infusions

Vitamin infusions are delivered by an IV into a vein, which means the infusion is delivered directly into the bloodstream. The process takes from 20 to 30 minutes while the patient is relaxed in the doctor’s office. Due to the equipment, time and skill needed to administer these treatments, vitamin infusions often cost more than pills, but are worth the immediate boost of nutrients.

Types of Vitamin Infusions

Vitamin C

Sometimes a tall glass or orange juice won’t cut it. There are numerous foods and drinks that are an excellent source of Vitamin C, but humans cannot produce it on their own. An infusion of Vitamin C is often used to treat symptoms of asthma, diabetes, hypertension, glaucoma and seasonal allergies. Vitamin C is known to increase collagen production, which improves the overall appearance of the skin, hair and nails. In some studies, high doses of Vitamin C have been used in treatment for cancer.

Glutathione

Glutathione is a protein made up of three different amino acids, produced by the liver and is needed in many different processes of the body. The protein helps build tissue, chemicals and other proteins that the body and immune system needs. It can be taken a number of different ways to treat a variety of conditions. It can be found in certain meats, fruit and vegetables, but sometimes the body needs the extra boost that infusions provide. Glutathione can be delivered through a pill, shot, IV infusion or by inhaling a vapor. This infusion is used to treat the side effects of chemotherapy, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, anemia, atherosclerosis, infertility in men and other medical conditions.

Myer’s Cocktail

Just like a regular cocktail, you might feel a “buzz” after receiving the Myer’s Cocktail vitamin infusion. This “buzz” is a jolt of essential vitamins and minerals delivered in concentrated amounts. Once the infusion enters the body, there is a heat sensation, and the result is a refreshed and upbeat feeling. The “cocktail” contains a mix of vitamins like magnesium, calcium, B-vitamins and Vitamin C. This vitamin infusion can be used to treat a variety of conditions like fatigue, heart disease, asthma, migraines, seasonal allergies and more.

Testimonials

This place was a major part in my Cancer being in remission. He helped me prepare my body for upcoming treatment. Dr Chris was a strong advocate in challenging me to push for proton therapy vs regular radiation. He made sure I had the best Doctors in my area. During my battle with cancer what they did helped me be the first person in my family Mom and Dad’s side that can say remission. 100% response to treatments. Thank you Dr Chris and team.

I have been coming to Knox Wellness for a year and a half. This place has been a Godsend! They’ve helped me get my chronic lyme disease to a manageable state as well as get all my vitamin levels to optimal.
